LEARNING MODULE 4 — Few-Shot Prompting

Get Started:

• Gather two or three real examples of something you’ve written yourself — emails, notes, messages, whatever’s real for you

• Give the examples to AI before asking it to draft something new in the same style — this is few-shot prompting: showing instead of just instructing

• Compare the result to what instructions alone would have produced

• Notice the difference in voice and fidelity

Translate this to your topic:

Build the same kind of reusable assistant around whatever's real for you — a “trip planning helper,” a “family letters helper,” a “workout ideas helper.” Same steps, different subject.

Get feedback on this module:

When you're done, upload or paste your work into your AI tool and ask:

“Please review my work. Tell me: (1) what I did well, (2) what I could improve, and (3) one suggestion for next time.”

Then ask a follow-up question about anything that didn't click.

Learning Module Checklist:

☐ Gathered two or three real examples of my own writing

☐ Gave the examples to AI before asking for new output (few-shot, not just instructions)
